Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a director, actress, and musician. As a director, she was recently selected for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop For Women, as well as the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Her short film, TEMPORARY, has played all over the country winning Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. She is currently in post production for her short film and TV series proof of concept called UNSPEAKABLE, starring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober. She has also mentored with and shadowed over a dozen established film and television directors. As an actor, she started on Broadway in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall revival of CABARET at Studio 54, among others. But she is best known for her TV work on FINDING CARTER (MTV), RESCUE ME (FX/Denis Leary), and as the first and only female detective on the Emmy winning series, LAW & ORDER (NBC).

We met Milena at the deadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City where her directoral debut TEMPORARY  was easily our favorite short film. So in addition to being available to act in the winning short screenplay, Milena will be directing our winning short! We're so fortunate to have her on board and look forward to placing the winning short screenplay into her talented hands!
